The Old Woman

The protagonist or antagonist in this short narrative, depending on your personal view...

Poster

This is a portion of the clip from the poster that invokes suspicion of fellow riders, and thusly leads to biases and sorts of racism... this is one of the clues to help the viewer know that 'hey, there's something big happenning here!' The other major clue happens the scene prior to this one with the young man that walks by (back facing viewer) with a picture of an elephant on the shirt that is itself animated (by far, the most difficult set of drawings to edit considering there's two different animations taking place. 1) the man walking in 'real time' and 2) the elephant which moves on its own so as to call attention to it and the idea of the 'elephant in the room' phrase

RJD2

This is one song I'm considering, by RJD2 called Murs Beat

The Books

This is one song I'm considering, by the Books called It Never Changes to Stop... probably the number one pick at the moment

The evolution of the drawings and their muses

Original Poster.......................................
1st Version............................................. 2nd Version..........................................
These two images are of the same thing, of a poster seen at top that says to report any suspicious activity. I've discussed the meaning behind it and that it entails but it really says more when the entire piece is put together. The 2 drawings I've provided show 1) what the very first version looked like waaaaaay back, and 2) what the NEW VERSION looks like.
#1 looked too 'flag-like' and was extremely rough and crude. It has nice contrasts, but technically.. eh.
#2 is far more superior technically and still carries over some contrast with greys. Not too much black going on, but it's balanced by whites. The greys are nice too. I'm not too happy about the imperfect vertical lines.... but eh, I think it gives it that workmanship's touch so it doesn't look 'mechanical.'

So here is the last attempt at posting my creation, unfortunately the file was corrupted when saved to cd-rom and only the first few seconds of the piece actually show--quite sad. So I was left with my original images and a whole lot of re-editting... at least the images were saved to my external harddrive and thus safe.

Even though onyl a few seconds show... they're pretty nice :)

Metro Passing Shadow

An alternate view of the last video, just an experiment with the passing of a shadow caused by a column outside the moving train. Grayscales aren't as contrasting as I would have liked, but this is more a focus on that shadow, and I'm pleased with the result... now watch it!
